Organisers seek volunteers to assist with Swindons 2019 Old Town Festival

Organisers of Swindon’s annual Old Town Festival, which is to take place again this summer, are seeking around 50 volunteers to assist with the event.

The festival, which will last for one week from 9 to 15 June inclusive, generally attracts approximately 15,000 visitors from across Swindon and its surrounding area who come to enjoy the fun on offer during the event. To advertise such events as the Old Town Festival, organisers often use techniques like poster printing.

The roles for which the organisers are seeking volunteers for vary greatly from acting as marshals during the parade to helping to clear up at the end of each day. Volunteers can choose to assist for as little as two hours and will provide a valuable contribution towards the success of the festival in its 28th year.

Denise Rogers, who chairs the festival’s organising committee, has attributed the past success of the festival to the time and commitment given by volunteers previously. She stated:

“Volunteering is great fun, and there are lots of different ways to get involved during the festival. So if you can give as little as two hours please do get in touch and help us make the event even better in its 28th year.”

Those wishing to volunteer at the festival should contact the organisers as soon as possible.
