New farmers' market for Swindon

A new farmers' market was launched in the Swindon area recently, giving people in the region the opportunity to shop local and meet the producers of the vegetables, meat and dairy on offer.

The new market takes place in Havelock Square and boasts a number of stalls selling local produce. Some of the farmers and artisans selling their wares at the event include Hobbs House Organic Bakery, which will be offering homemade breads, and Hinton Marsh Farm, which aims to provide customers with free range, locally-reared meats. There is even a selection of English wines on offer thanks to the participation of Bow in the Cloud vineyard.

The market has also gained the official stamp of authenticity from the Farm and Retail Markets Association. This may be something that organisers will want to highlight in the Banners they source from printing companies in Swindon.

The organiser of the new farmers' market at Havelock Square, Kardien Gerbrands, spoke about the new venture, saying:

“I am delighted to be able to bring this market to Swindon, and I am looking forward to getting stuck in. This will be for the long term and even if it starts off slowly we will continue to work at it.

“I am impressed with the town centre in Swindon because it seems to be pretty vibrant, and the market is not duplicating anything now here.”

The market is set to be held weekly and trading hours are between 9:00am and 3:00pm every Thursday.
