New bar opened at Swindon Supermarine Football Club

Fans attending a match between Swindon Supermarine Football Club and Godalming recently toasted the launch of the new ‘Excalibar’ at the ground. The firm behind the bar, Excalibur Communications, made use of a flyer printing service to ensure everyone who attended had a free drink voucher.

The company – the club’s new sponsor – has also organised a scheme of referrals to help in funding the club.

Excalibur’s CEO, James Phipps, said:

"Supporting the local community is at the heart of our business and we’ve come on board to work alongside Supermarine to raise much needed funds to keep it going from strength to strength.

"With this in mind, if your company or a company you know signs up to any of our services, we’ll donate five per cent of the profit on an ongoing basis to Supermarine, so you can help us to help your club."

Supermarine’s chairman, Jez Webb, said that the club was “excited” over the new bar, adding that the referrals could potentially have a big impact on funding. He therefore urged any firm in need of business communication improvement to get in touch with Excalibur, emphasising that it could also help the club.

Whether the free drinks were a deciding factor or not is hard to say, but the Godalming match went well for Supermarine – who ran out 4-1 winners.
