Swindon Jobcentre Plus hosted the recruitment event this October. In excess of 350 posts were made available to the public by 16 employers. Promotional items from Swindon can be used by businesses seeking to expand.
Julie Marshall, the centre manager, said:
"Already we have had a lot of positive feedback from the employers, and we have a good variety of both part time and full time positions available as well as temporary positions. There are positions to suit everyone.”
Marshall explained on this occasion that priority had been given to those without work. She added that there is a list of organisations waiting to participate in future events of this type.
A wide range of economic sectors was represented at the fair. Administration recruits were sought by SERCO, while installers of smart meters were the target for SSE Marketing. Meanwhile, Anglia Windows hoped to attract sales talent and Total Security aimed to get the interest of potential security staff. Amazon was using different enterprises to get personnel to enable its use of a fresh delivery station. Workers were also required by Asda and other major retailers.
Recruitment agencies took the opportunity to showcase what they have to offer to interested people. C&D Recruitment, Wise Recruitment and County Recruitment competed for attention.
