Flour Festival comes to Swindon

Local baking and cooking enthusiasts are set to head to the Brunel Shopping Centre this bank holiday weekend, as the Flour Festival comes to

Swindon.

With poster printing taking place ahead of the event and Print companies in Swindon helping with Banners, bakery experts and TV stars should make it popular with cake, bread and pastry fans across the region.

One of the stars of the show will be Tom Herbert. The artisan baker, who presents hit TV programme 'The Fabulous Baker Brothers' with his brother Henry, will be making an appearance along with vegan baker Ms Cupcake (aka Melissa Morgan).

David Domoney, the gardening expert and broadcaster, will also be on hand to give tips and advice for growing veg.

As well as cookery demonstrations, baking workshops, tasty treats to try and kitchen supply stalls, Tom and the other stars will be signing Books for customers.

There will also be entertainment provided, from bands Dinner Ladies and The Courgettes.

Speaking ahead of the festivities, the marketing manager for the centre, Jane Stewart, said:

“We wanted to create something a little bit different for this May bank holiday weekend. We’re very lucky to have secured such great names as The Fabulous Baker Brothers and David Domoney to impart their wisdom and ideas to Swindon’s shoppers.”

The event will run between 11am - 4pm this Saturday and Sunday.
