Fire-damaged school in Swindon to undergo conversion

A former school building in Swindon that has suffered extensive fire damage is set to be given a new lease of life with the confirmation that it will be turned into flats.

The building in question dates back to the Victorian era and was most recently used to house Stratton Education Centre. Before that, it served as Ruskin Junior School – but the building has been closed for the past three years. During 2022, two separate fires broke out within it that caused widespread damage. Much of the roof is now gone, while the interiors are virtually gutted.

Now it is set to be restored though, after Swindon Borough Council granted approval to Plans for converting it. These plans will see the building turned into a total of seven flats. They will also involve the construction of 10 houses at the location.

Brochure printing by Swindon shops can be useful to local housing developers when they need to show off their latest homes. It can supply them with Brochures that contain colour pictures of them.

The main red brick building at the site will be converted into a mix of two and one-bedroom flats. There will be three with two bedrooms and four with a single bedroom. Meanwhile, three of the 10 houses are set to be affordable ones.

A start date is yet to be announced.
