Expansion plans approved for BMW factory in Swindon

A factory building in Swindon that is owned by the car manufacturer BMW is all set to undergo an expansion, with the confirmation that the Plans for this have been approved by the council.

This factory is situated at Bridge End Road in the Stratton St Margaret area of the town and it is used for steel panel pressing work. BMW applied for permission to add an extension to the existing press hall building, arguing that doing so would enable it to keep up its current employment levels while also improving operational efficiency.

Work on erecting the factory started back in 2018 and it makes the panels used in the construction of Mini Coopers. Those vehicles are then completed at a plant in Oxford. Operations began at the Swindon site two years ago.

Under the new Plans, a further 2,271 square metres are to be added to the existing hall. This will be achieved by knocking a section of it down and then putting a one storey extension on its west side.

Companies such as this sometimes turn to Print shops in Swindon that can create Letterheads. These can be used in any official correspondence for business like this, such as planning applications.

The extension is set to be utilised as a storage space for equipment and tools. This will enable them to be retrieved more quickly when needed.
