Country park in Swindon to host Christmas events

A country park in Swindon has announced its events programme for the festive season, and there is something on offer for people of all ages.

Lydiard Park is set to be one of the centres of the festivities in the town, with a packed programme of events planned. Things will kick off at the end of this month when the official Christmas Lights Switch On takes place. People will be able to attend this at no cost and it will offer dance performances and live music from local artists. The fun will then climax with the lighting up of the festive tree.

Following on from that, December will see Lydiard House Museum decked out in Christmas decorations. It will be open for people to visit throughout the month, either by joining a guided tour or by arranging a solo tour.

The next stage in the festivities will be a charity Santa v Rudolph Fun Run with both 5km and 3km options. This will be followed by a traditional Carols by Candlelight service that will take place on two successive December Tuesdays.
