Local architect Michael Gray, as part of the National Heritage Open Weekend, will give a talk on the history of Swindon’s Town Hall later this month.
This architectural gem was built by Brightwen Binyon between 1890-91 and is one of Swindon’s most recognisable heritage sites. As an evening event, it affords a unique opportunity to discover more about the background history of this distinctive structure.
Michael Gray is a conservation architect of over 30 years, working with historic buildings, and has been involved in many and varied projects, encompassing everything from medieval churches and barns through to a famous and long-established hotel in Pall Mall. This should prove to be an interesting and informative talk, allowing those in attendance to learn in detail about the history of Swindon.
It is also combined with a rare opportunity to join a tour of the building, which will enable people to view some of the beautiful and unusual features that aren’t normally accessible to the general public.
The event is free to attend and in its entirety is expected to last approximately one hour and refreshments will be available. Poster Printing can help to advertise historical talks and events such as this.
The Talk and Tour of Swindon's Town Hall is due to take place between 6pm and 7pm on Sunday 15th September at Swindon Dance.
