A celebration dedicated to Japan is coming to a versatile events space in Sheffield this summer.
Citizens of Steel City seeking a cultural experience can join a summertime event called “Japan Fest Sheffield”. Presented by Otaku World, the single-day celebration will feature an eclectic mix of Japanese themed activities and entertainment, including live music.
Presenters of cultural events sometimes collaborate with skilled banner printing services for signage to decorate venues featuring iconic motifs like Japan’s “Flag of the Sun” which features a crimson circle on a white field.
Festivalgoers coming down on the day can expect a vibrant blend of experiences and performances designed to let guests enjoy both modern and traditional Japanese entertainment.
Acts booked to perform include LJ English, Aki Kitagawa, Sumie Kent, Tengu Taiko, Black Tsubaki J Rock, LeLe, Jero11 and DJ Manimal with Cerisina.
Planned activities involve famous Japanese papercraft origami, kimono wearing, a chance to learn some simple Japanese phrases and a Kitsune mask making workshop. Depicting foxes, the masks embody the Shinto belief that foxes are shapeshifting magical beings, messengers of the gods and guardians.
Japan Fest Sheffield is now happening at The Steamworks on Sunday, August 9. The warehouse events space is situated at 109 to111 Randall Street in the Sheffield suburb of Highfield and tickets are available from £12.62. The celebration starts at 11 am and runs until 5 pm.
