A theatre in Sheffield will present a pantomime based on a classic tale of a long-haired princess with a comic twist.
Pantomime season is set to continue in Sheffield, as a wintertime production presented by the Handsworth and Hallam Theatre Company will be taking over a stage in the heart of the city for five nights in a row. Titled “Rapunzel”, it features an amateur cast and a script penned by Tom Whalley Pantomimes.
Theatres putting on pantos and other performances often depend on experienced poster printing services for colourful playbills that attract the attention of the public.
People purchasing tickets for the show can witness colourful characters come to life like golden-haired Rapunzel, Prince Ryder, Dame Follicle (a local hairdresser), her son Pascal and Mother Gothel, an evil witch who locks the titular heroine in a tower.
Rapunzel will now be performed live on stage at Sheffield Theatres’ Montgomery from Wednesday, January 28 to Sunday, February 1. The theatre can be found based at 27 Surrey Street in Sheffield city centre.
The pantomime has a running time of two hours and 30 minutes and includes an intermission for refreshments. There are three shows daily at 7.15 pm, 12 pm and 5 pm, with tickets available at a range of prices including a “buy 10 get one ticket free” deal for large groups.
