Third award for Bracknell firm

3M, an American multinational conglomerate, has recently won a significant business award for the third time in succession.

Business in the Community (BITC) elected to award 3M in Bracknell, Reading with a ‘Big Tick’ because the business is not based simply around commercial principles. Nonetheless, the prestigious award could be highlighted for promotional reasons by the multinational; printing services from the local area could be used to achieve this. Stephen Howard, the chief executive of BITC, has told Get Reading:

“The awards celebrate the very best of business and raise awareness of business as a powerful force for good. We congratulate 3M for playing its part in creating a fairer society and more sustainable future and demonstrating that business has a greater purpose then simply generating profit.”

The ‘Big Tick’ prize in question was granted in the category of Marketplace Sustainability Leadership. Christiane Gruen, the managing director for 3M, has highlighted how important sustainability is to the organisation and how there are Plans to progress further with the principle.

However, she has also pinpointed how the business has engaged with young people, stressing how the firm has promoted volunteering within the community.

The awards distributed by BITC may be considered to be of extra value because they have been provided over a long time period. The Responsible Business Awards under discussion has reportedly been a feature of British business life for longer than any of its rivals.
