A two-day musical extravaganza featuring contemporary recording artists is taking place at a historic site in Reading this year.
Music enthusiasts in Reading can now book tickets for an intimate, independent music festival. Dubbed “Down at the Abbey”, the multi-date event will feature two sound stages, and the programme has been carefully planned to ensure no clashes occur so attendees can appreciate all acts confirmed to perform.
Created by the same team responsible for the “Are You Listening Festival”, Down at the Abbey has been running since 2019. This year, the event has help from Arts Council England and its grant award for “Supporting Grassroots Music”. Outdoor event organises often enlist the aid of expert banner printing services to create weatherproof signage that acknowledges their official sponsors.
Headlining acts playing on the festival stages include Joshua Idehen, Nubiyan Twist and Ibibio Sound Machine. Other artists include Rose Rey, Nathan Fake, the Wave Pictures, Sundaughter, C Duncan, Kathryn Joseph and The New Eves, with more performers still waiting to be announced.
Down at the Abbey will now take place on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 within the Reading Abbey Ruins. The 900-year-old historic site can be found on Abbey Street in Reading.
Food and drink will be available throughout the event from local vendors including Berkshire’s own Siren Craft Brew.
