Charity seeks more volunteers in Reading

Reading-based charity Parents And Children Together (PACT) is currently searching for more volunteers.

PACT is involved in enabling adoption through supporting families, and is located within South Street in Reading. During the course of Volunteers’ Week (June 1 -12), it thanked its existing team and also appealed for other members of the community to step up to the plate. Charitable organisations can get assistance from marketing services in Reading if they want to boost their recruitment going forward.

Sam Ward, a volunteer manager at PACT, told Get Reading:

“We have a wide variety of opportunities available from a Handy Person to a Yoga Teacher to a Minute Taker. We’d also love to hear from you if you think you could offer something to PACT which isn’t advertised on our website.”

The chief executive of PACT, Jan Fishwick, explained how proud the organisation is of its current set of volunteers. She pointed out that volunteers gain from the contribution they make to their community. Volunteers are supported in their work and also receive training. They can benefit from social events and may receive their travel expenses if they want them.

During the last 12 months, PACT volunteers put in over 2,700 hours to the project. More than 20 people gave their time, experience and expertise to the cause for free. Individuals have the opportunity to perform in different roles within the organisation as they progress.
