Berkshire aims to be a digital hotspot

The Thames Valley Local Economic Partnership (TVLEP) has recently announced that Berkshire possesses the most productive employees in the UK.

The claim was made as part of efforts to attract foreign direct investment to the county. This strategy has the aim of building up the digital sector, and the report that featured the claim has the aim of highlighting the competitive advantages of Berkshire. If it succeeds, demand for digital Business Cards in Reading could rise. Peter Read, the chairperson for the TVLEP, has told Get Reading:

“Berkshire has the second highest performing economy in England, after London, and has the UK’s most productive workforce largely as a result of our world-class digital technology cluster which is why we are delighted to announce the launch of our first Sector Proposition: Digital Technologies.”

While the digital tech report is of importance, it has been revealed that further sector-based analyses are in the pipeline. It has been reported that a similar approach will be taken to promote healthcare, energy and life sciences.

The work on digital tech has not simply focused on the nature of the existing industry in the county. There was a deliberate concentration on opportunities for firms of different sizes to engage with. At the same time as the report coming out, there has been news of a fresh survey. It has been stated that the survey in question aims to look at digital clusters as a source of future growth.
