Work on 18-acre Preston site underway

Development on a site in has recently begun.

The site, called “East”, is 18 acres in size, as is located between Preston’s city centre and a junction of the M6. Brochure printing can be useful in the property sector, particularly when there is plenty of interest in an area.

The Barnfield Group and HBD are the developers who are preparing East. Steve Manifold is a development surveyor for HBD, and told Lancashire Business View:

“East can accommodate a wide range of sizes for industrial and logistics use and we already have a lot of interest, which is very encouraging. It’s great to see work starting on site, and we look forward to seeing the scheme take shape.”

It is clear that the Barnfield Group is optimistic about the prospects of East. Tracy Clavell-Bate is in charge of acquisitions and development for the firm, and says she has no fears of making a commitment to speculative construction, because investment can often be forthcoming before the site is even completed. This is due to increased public interest when a site is being improved.

Five units of various sizes will be completed during the initial phase of the building work. Planning for the second phase of the development has taken already place, with Eckersley Property and Gerald Eve the agents for the property in question.
