A multi-million pound transformation should transform the centre of Preston. The plan has been assembled by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). A civic square, a fresh road layout and a new student centre shall be constructed. Print shops in Preston can receive a boost from successful regeneration projects.
An operating officer for UCLan, Michael Ahern, said:
“These important investigations will ensure works can be carried out on time and with minimal disruption once the construction phase of the student centre commences. During April and May we will expect the preparatory work to impact on traffic coming into the city centre and we would advise road users to allow more time when planning their journeys.”
Ahern underlined that the teams cooperating on the project are working as quickly as possible. The message is that every effort to limit inconvenience shall be made. Changing the way in which utilities are supplied will necessitate an excavation drive.
Practical steps to minimise the potential disruption shall include the provision of special routes for pedestrians during the month of March. Building bosses intend to step up to the plate in the course of April. This will mean that motorists could benefit from the introduction of temporary lights. These traffic lights should help to keep the roads open while progress is achieved.Get a Free Quote for Print
