Preston to host star-studded shopping event

Celebrities will be in attendance at a shopping festival for students in a Preston mall.

St George’s Centre is the location for Student ShopFest once again. In early October, students will have three hours to take advantage of discounts, see celebrities and access freebies, with Promotional Products from Preston likely to be on display.

Last year, stars from reality TV show Love Island appeared. Andrew Stringer, the manager of the centre, has said that he is confident that the students will enjoy the experience.

Tickets for the event are free. To get in, people must be at least 16. Bars and restaurants in the vicinity of Friargate may get a welcome boost from ShopFest. New Look is participating in the festival, and its manager Sue Clark commented:

“There’s a huge anticipation about ShopFest within the centre – the St George’s annual student event is always a highlight within our trading calendar. We are thrilled that the event will be back for 2017, with some twists, and look forward to a hugely enjoyable night for our student visitors and the centre’s retailers.”

Students do not have to be attending the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to enter the event. To encourage people to engage with the occasion, free gifts and VIP access were granted to the individuals who claimed the initial portion of 100 tickets. Those students who want a Christmas job should look out for a stand in the centre when the time comes.
