At the launch, Zuleikha Chikh, an award recipient in 2019, was provided with a platform. She has received recognition for her voluntary work and she spoke about the experience of being listed as an inspirational Muslim sportswoman.
Jimmy Khan, who is head of community development and sport at the University of Central Lancashire, appreciates the value of partnership working. Khan told the Lancashire Post:
“UCLan is honoured and privileged to be associated with such a flagship event for the city. The university has been involved with the Preston Sports Awards as a sponsor for many years.”
Khan has been operating through the Preston Sports Forum. He is clear that the awards ceremony has a lot of prestige associated with it. Believing that nominations for the different categories will flood in, he thinks that interested individuals should act without delay.
A total of 13 awards will be distributed at the event. Tickets for the affair are being sold for £25. People who would like to obtain a ticket are going to be obliged to act by a March 12th deadline, with the ceremony taking place on March 20th.
