Barbara Lehnhoff, better known by her stage name Camilla Sparksss, is on tour and due to play a gig in Preston at the end of November.
This Swiss Canadian musician and visual artist hails from Kenora, Ontario, on Canada's Great Lakes. She is recognised for her live performances that combine a mix of synthesisers with sharp vocals.
Camilla has released three albums. Her 2014 debut record ‘For You the Wild’ showcased a blend of 80s experimental dark wave electronic sounds. In 2019, ‘Brutal’ came out and fused lo-fi electro-pop with a variety of melodies. This was followed up in 2020 by ‘Brutal Remix’, sixteen remixes incorporating a selection of electronic artists.
She has played more than 400 live shows throughout Europe, North America and Northern Africa since 2014. These include festivals notably Kilbi, Eurosonic and La Machine Du Moulin Rouge, as well as opening up for Jon Spencer on his European Blues Explosion Tour.
Camilla was a 2016 Swiss Music Prize nominee with Peter Kernel, her post-punk group and co-founded the indie On The Camper Records label. She is presently working on her new album called ‘Camilla Sparksss Lullabies’.
Tickets cost £11 inclusive of a booking fee. Banner printing can be an effective way of publicising a future musical event.
Camilla Sparksss's gig has a starting time of 7.30pm on Sunday 27th November at The Continental, Preston.
