The library has been run by Lancashire County Council and the change is intended to enable the integration of cultural services. Flyer printing can often be useful in the promotion of cultural activities.
Peter Kelly, a city councillor with responsibility for leisure and culture, told the Lancashire Post:
“One of the requirements of the Heritage Lottery Funding was that we have an integrated library service. We will be the first blended library, art gallery and museum in the country. Heritage Lottery Funding was keen to see the Harris had a uniform approach.”
A meeting at the town hall endorsed the proposal last month. The council has also expressed its approval for the plan.
Councillor Kelly explained the importance of communicating with staff during every stage of the process. He hopes that exhibitions will benefit from the fresh approach. Consultation in relation to the policy is still ongoing.
According to Councillor Kelly, the benefits of enhanced cooperation are clear. He pointed out how participants in a calligraphy workshop had gained from reading about the topic. In addition, he maintained that visitors to an exhibition about the Vikings benefited from easy access to library Books.Get a Free Quote for Books
