The hope is that a derelict site once occupied by Cottam Brickworks will enable over 950 jobs to be created in the city. If all goes to plan, a new Aldi store will form part of a grand commercial hub. Graphic design can be useful in the property sector, especially when Plans have to be shared with various stakeholders.
BXB Land Solutions has teamed up with Cottam Hall Properties on the project in question. A BXB director, Gary Goodman, explained that the scheme is all about the creation of employment. Goodman told LancsLive:
“Our new district centre at Cottam will make a significant contribution to the growth strategy for north Preston, with hundreds of construction and end-user jobs. It will also finally provide the key services residents want.”
According to Goodman, the brickworks site fits in with area-based policies. In particular, he suggested that the location may benefit from being part of Preston’s City Deal.
The development has been looked on favourably by Preston City Council, whose planning committee gave it the go ahead last Tuesday, March 2.
Meanwhile, Goodman has confirmed that the acquisition of an extra piece of land would add to the quality of the site. To that end, he has been in discussions with Homes England and Lancashire City Council.
