Plans for The Quarters submitted in Preston

The Quarters proposals for part of Preston are awaiting approval after submission.

Preston City Council will decide whether or not to give The Quarters development the green light. The Plans have been put in for consideration by David Cox Architects (DCA). Graphic design can be useful in the construction sector.

Planning consultants Smith & Love are involved in the project. Pillars Construction, the developers of the project, aim to make The Quarters into a prestigious development. Luxury apartments at a competitive price might assist in the marketing of a modern environment. The site has been employed for residential purposes in the past.

David Cox of DCA explained that a sensitive design is at the core of the vision. He hopes that the respect demonstrated to local building styles will help to influence the decision in his favour. His perspective suggests that The Quarters initiative could have a broad impact and he told Lancashire Business View:

“There are a number of vacant plots along Grimshaw Street and, by creating this viable option for a site which has seen various applications over the years, it is hoped it will act as a catalyst for further regeneration.”

Urban regeneration has already played a major role in transforming the dominant perceptions of Preston. Certainly, the city has been recognised widely as a much improved place.
