Nick Park is a celebrated animator and the creator of the iconic duo Wallace and Gromit. The films starring those characters have been nominated for seven Academy Awards, of which they won four. They have also achieved seven BAFTA wins. Now, Park is coming back to his hometown of Preston so that he can reopen The Harris, its main museum and arts venue.
This has been closed down for the past four years while it underwent a large-scale refurbishment. The project was called Harris Your Place, but now it is almost ready for its public re-launch – and Park will be the man to cut the ribbon.
Speaking to Blog Preston, Anna Hindle from Preston City Council said that:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Park to The Harris to celebrate this momentous day. This is more than a reopening; it’s a new chapter for a space that belongs to the people of Preston. We want local residents to be right at the heart of it.”
Poster printing by Preston shops is one of the options available when it comes to advertising official events of this kind.
The Harris is due to get its grand reopening on 28 September.
