Colourful summer scheduled for Preston Markets

A variety of colourful events are set to take place in Preston Markets this summer.

Preston Markets will witness an Irish danceathon, original artwork and a record fair in the weeks to come. Colour can be added to local events if poster printing in Preston is employed. Both the indoor and the outdoor sections of the markets will be used.

Preston City Council is determined to make it a summer to remember this year. A danceathon will be held to raise funds for the Whelan Joyce School of Irish Dance and St Catherine’s Hospice in late July. Over a period of 12 hours, there will be lots of Irish music and plenty of jigs. It may be possible to give the dancers a hand by joining in the fun.

In early August, people will have the opportunity to view a remarkable art installation about bees. The concept behind the work is that it will engage with the different senses of the audience. Individuals will be able to gain insights into the life of bees. Meanwhile, children will be empowered to make their own art at a separate installation made of plywood.

A canopy for the fish market will be used by the organisers of the record fair. Memorabilia and CDs will be made available, so consumers will not be restricted to the purchase of vinyl.
