Ambitious makeover for Preston bar

A bar in Preston’s city centre is about to be refurbished.

The premises are located within Avenham Street and will be transformed to allow realistic comparisons with rival establishments in Liverpool and Manchester. Promotional items from Preston can be handy for businesses which want to upgrade their image.

Dave Holt, a co-owner of the Holt Pub Company is behind the initiative. Holt told the Lancashire Evening Post:
“Preston has been on the cards for a while. We’re both Preston lads. The city is having a real investment boom at the moment and we want to be a part of that. It could be something really great and help push Preston further forward.”

Holt has joined forces with Darren Cooper, who is behind the construction firm, Cooperwood. This enterprise is already engaged in the practical work that will make the eventual transformation of the premises feasible.

The renewed bar shall be known as ‘Baker Street’ when the development work is completed. The intention is that the name should capitalise on the heritage of the late Victorian period. It has been revealed that the exterior of the bar will be covered in black paint to make sure that the aesthetics are appropriate.

The hope is that Baker Street will be up and running in the springtime. The Holt Pub Company already has several bars on its Books.
