Palmers Green in Enfield is set to enjoy a new community square when work finishes this spring.
Residents of Palmers Green will soon get to enjoy a brand-new outdoor community and cultural space in the town centre. Dubbed Devonshire Square, the area is a collaborative effort between the local authority and its community. While work started only earlier this year, reports have revealed that construction will soon be completed.
Local councillors and event organisers sometimes call on banner printing services to create eye-catching signage for openings of new community spaces and facilities.
As part of the project, local communities have explored the versatility of the space, delivering activities and events like outdoor dining, markets, play sessions and public art exhibitions.
Palmers Green residents and business owners have also taken part in engagement and consultation events to help inform the function and design of the square. These activities have involved feedback sessions on models and design and focus meetings featuring key stakeholders like Arbeit Studios and the Palmers Green Action Team, among others.
Key design elements will include mosaic artworks created by Laurel Park School students showcasing important moments in the history of Palmers Green, informal seating spaces for residents to rest and connect and the transformation of 50 square metres of hard surface areas into green spaces.
Work on Devonshire Square is now expected to finish at the end of next month.
