A park in Palmers Green will soon host a workshop designed for creatives in the area to enjoy.
Residents of Enfield can participate in an upcoming artistic session in Broomfield Park. The summer event arriving in the borough this July is dubbed “Unlocking Broomfield”, and it involves drawing by using the sounds heard in the local greenspace.
The two-hour-long creative workshop is led by Harriette Meynell, a multi-talented artist. Attendees will learn ways to listen more closely to their surroundings and record the sounds present while producing visual images that represent them. Together, all assembled will use paper and audio recordings to create a collage of Broomfield Park’s unique soundscape.

A meditative and relaxing experience, the workshop will include a guided walk to different parts of the park. Participants are invited to bring a folding chair for additional comfort, but all art materials will be provided.
The Unlocking Broomfield workshop will now take place on Thursday, July 3. The meeting point is the Palmers Greenery Community Café based in Broomfield Park in Palmers Green, Enfield, and the workshop will start at 10.30 am and end at 12.30 pm.
