An art gallery in Palmers Green will present an exhibition inspired by life during lockdowns later this year.
The Palmers Green Gallery in Arbeit Studios is hosting an exhibition entitled “When We All Stayed at Home” by Enfield photographer, Katrina Campbell in autumn. The September exhibit arrives five years after the pandemic and the lockdowns occurred in the UK.
Campbell started taking pictures of her neighbours when the initial lockdown began, photographing them on their doorsteps. Curious about how they were doing under such unusual circumstances, the photographer was surprised how open people were, sharing stories, fears and hopes candidly.

Campbell’s portraits and the stories they told were first shared via social media, but the project soon grew, and she was overloaded with messages from people across North London wanting to participate. More than 100 photographs and personal accounts were submitted from residents in Palmers Green, Grange Park, Winchmore Hill, Enfield and Bush Hill Park, leading to a self-published book with the same title as the exhibition.
When We All Stayed at Home will now be on display at Arbeit Studios on Saturday, September 20. The exhibition will be open from 12 pm to 4 pm and the studio is located on Green Lanes in Palmers Green.
