An Irish band known for its raucous brand of folk music will perform at a major events venue in Oxford this spring.
Those who enjoy Irish folk in Oxford will get a chance to see The Mary Wallopers live on stage this year. A springtime show will find the band performing at the city’s acclaimed O2 Academy as part of their latest tour.
The March mission will see the group who hail from Dundalk in County Louth introducing new cuts from their extended play (EP) called “Home Boy Home” to audiences around the UK. Bands and record labels often work with comprehensive printing services that offer design when setting artwork and imagery for EPs and albums.
The Mary Wallopers have already gained a considerable following playing at major festivals, appearing on television and enjoying sold-out shows as they tour the world. Their self-titled first album drew comparisons with famous folk bands from Ireland like The Dubliners and The Pogues, but their follow-up saw the group described as "Irish trad punks".
Those attending the Oxford show will get a chance to hear a list of crowd pleasers that may include “Frost is All Over”, “Rich Man and the Poor Man” and “Eileen Og” among others.
The Mary Wallopers will now be at the O2 Academy on Tuesday, March 25. The gig will kick off at 7 pm and the venue is located at 190 Cowley Road in Oxford.
