An opening night featuring a concert from one of the UK’s best loved singers will kick off a fortnight of classical music festivities in Oxford.
Citizens will rejoice to hear that a much-loved music event is returning to the city. The Oxford International Song Festival is celebrating a quarter of a century of events this year and has announced an opening night with classical vocalist Dame Sarah Connolly booked to perform.
An artist of renown, Connolly will open the two-week festival with her unique voice, which has captivated audiences around the world. She will perform a programme of songs representing this year’s theme, “Love Songs”. This includes music from Brahms and Mendelssohn, poetry from Franz Liszt, works by Claude Debussy and a cycle written by the Master of the King's Music, Errollyn Wallen.
Organisers of recitals and concerts sometimes look to expert Print shops that can create elegant programmes that list music being performed on the night, and in order.
Connolly will be accompanied by celebrated pianist Joseph Middleton at the event.
The Oxford International Song Festival will now begin with its opening night on Friday, October 9 at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. The venue can be found in the Radcliffe Observation Quarter on Woodstock Road in Oxford, and the recital will commence at 7.45 pm.Get a Free Quote for Print
