US singer-songwriter to play Oxford

An events venue in Oxford is presenting a rare appearance from an award-winning artist this summer.

Much-loved musician Ray LaMontagne is playing a concert in the city to celebrate his 2014 album “Trouble”. The summertime show is included in a major UK tour.

The cover for LaMontagne's award-winning debut was designed and painted by artist Jason Holley. Musicians often work closely with experienced artists and Graphic Design Services to create original cover art for their releases.

The tour in the UK will be LaMontagne’s first since 2018. The show in Oxford will let fans see the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter play the entirety of his famous album, which includes songs like “Narrow Escape”, “Hold You In My Arms”, “All The Wild Horses”, “Trouble” and a cover version of the Dolly Parton classic “Jolene”.

Born in New Hampshire in 1973, LaMontagne was inspired to give up his day job and make music after hearing a song by Stephen Stills on his radio alarm clock. His most recent album was 2024’s “Long Way Home”.

Ray LaMontagne will perform live on stage at the New Theatre Oxford on Saturday, June 6. The theatre is based at 24 to 26 George Street in Oxford, within easy reach of the railway station. Doors to show will open at 7 pm. The concert will include an interval.
