Oxford to enjoy celebration of Beethoven

A festival celebrating the legendary pianist and composer Beethoven is coming to Oxford next month.

The Oxford Beethoven Festival: Symphony and Concerto Cycle II, is a celebration of the famous German composer Ludvig Van Beethoven. The event is organised by the Young Artists Platform, which works to promote talented up and coming musicians in and around Oxfordshire.

The festival will be held at the Sheldonian Theatre on Broad Street in Oxford. The theatre was built from Plans designed by the great Christopher Wren and named after the University chancellor, Gilbert Sheldon. Local venues hosting concerts can use reliable printing services to produce high quality programmes for those in attendance.

The Beethoven festival will begin with Symphony No 1 in C major, Opus 21, followed by the Piano Concerto No 4 in G major, Opus 58. The festival concludes with the renowned Symphony No 5 in C Minor, Opus 67. Soloist and conducting duties will both be performed by Marios Papadopoulos. The three pieces played will serve to illustrate why Beethoven is commonly considered one of the finest composers that ever existed.

The Oxford Beethoven Festival will start at 7:30pm and finish at around 9:50pm on Thursday, February 6. Tickets for the event are priced between £15 and £45, however there will be free admission available to the pre-concert recital at 6:30pm.
