Oxford opens young minds with science day

The Science Oxford Centre is holding one of its Family Open Days in the city at the beginning of December.

This science-themed event allows children to explore and create their own experiments, leading to individual discoveries. They can engage in new experiences in the Exploration Zone, attempt to defeat the Scarf-Shooter, try out the Air Table, or meet the Turntable Challenge, where all the discs must be kept spinning.

It is also a chance for kids to get up close and personal with nature by examining bugs and plants under a microscope. Using one of the printed trail sheets, visitors can then opt to stroll in the open air and encounter wildlife living in the nearby woods.

The event is compliant with all COVID-19 government regulations and those in attendance can bring along their own food and refreshments. There are also outdoor tables widely available for use by the public.

Tickets cost £6, or £20 for a full family of four ticket (with at least one adult), while those aged under three go free. It provides two hours to investigate the key Exploration Zone and all-day woodland access. Brochure printing can add an extra dimension to presenting educational experiences.

The Science Oxford Centre's Family Open Day will take place in three sessions (10:00 am to 12:00 noon, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Saturday, December 5.
