Oxford's Christmas Lights Festival is due to be held in the city, over three days, towards the end of November.
This festive event, which began in 2009, has since broadened its scope. It is no longer solely confined to a single gathering of people in the city's centre. The organisers, in conjunction with a selection of cultural and community stakeholders, have pivoted their approach towards the inclusion of residents in local areas.
This year's programme is a celebration of the 'Art of Connectivity’; one that incorporates light shows and walks, sound systems, exhibitions, a Christmas market and workshops. There will also be musical entertainment and dancing, as well as a host of other family fun and games.
Apart from the city centre events, a number of other locations or hubs have been introduced in more recent times, such as Cutteslowe and Rose Hill, facilitating a greater degree of grassroots participation.
In the past, highlights have included Broad Street's 'Victorian Christmas Market' and the 'Captured Moments' experience. While away from the central venues, attendees can also add Cowley's 'Winter Lights’ party to the list.
There is no charge for attendance. Print shops are a valuable resource for those engaged in organising a local community event, whatever the scale.
The Christmas Lights Festival will take place between Friday, 15 and Sunday, 17 November across Oxford.Get a Free Quote for Print
