The April 17th blaze at the Beaumont Street building, which dates back 150 years, led to damage across three floors and was the result of a beef stroganoff dish being prepared flambé -style in the kitchen.
However, the Randolph – with its distinctive Gothic architecture – is now once again open to local people and hotel guests, with those areas still needing repair work being sectioned off during this process.
This will leave 110 rooms available for people to use. Despite the damage to the building, no one was injured by the fire.
The Randolph is run by Macdonald Hotels and its regional management director, Jonathan Dawson, said:
“We would like to thank Oxford Fire and Rescue, the hotel team, the local community of Oxford and the contractors for all their support and efforts over the last few weeks.”
He went on to add that the programme of investment that had begun there just before the fire hit, and worth £5.6 million, would also be resuming.
As with other hotels in the city, the Randolph has the option of calling on Stationery printing in Oxford, if it needs a firm to supply it with official hotel Stationery.
The Randolph was frequently employed as a location for the Inspector Morse television series.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
