Rock outfit The Subways is due to go on tour, and is scheduled to give a performance in Oxford at the beginning of October.
This trio got together in 2000 in Welwyn Garden City, taking their name from the local subterranean walkways. They consist of lead singer and guitarist Billy Lunn, bassist Charlotte Cooper and Josh Morgan on drums.
The band came to wider public attention by constantly gigging, home-recording songs and releasing them via their website. But the breakthrough moment came on winning an unsigned band competition to play Glastonbury.
This success ultimately led to spots at the Reading and Leeds Festival and an initial UK tour, as well as releasing the single '1 am', which got much traction on John Peel's Radio 1 Show. The LP 'Young for Eternity' came out in 2005 and helped them to acquire more fans and play larger venues.
The trio’s success also secured them a deal with Warner Bros, and their 'Money and Celebrity' album emerged in 2011. They are now one of the UK's most popular rock bands, and are constantly on the road both at home and abroad.
Tickets cost £22.60 inclusive of a transaction fee. Banner printing is an effective option for those engaged in the promotion of a concert or musical event such as this one.
The Subways gig has a starting time of 6.30 pm on Wednesday, 2 October at the O2 Academy, Oxford.
