Timeless music arrives in Northampton
A venue in Northampton will open its doors to a much-loved pop band this winter.
Music fans in Northampton can soon hear live renditions of songs by British band, The Beautiful South. A group featuring some of its former members simply called “The South” are making a stop in town for a single-night show to play music adored by thousands of followers across the country.
Venues that present live shows like concerts sometimes look to dedicated flyer printing services for hand-to-hand adverts they can issue to the public that grow attendance levels at performances.
A nine-piece group, The South consists of vocalist Alison Wheeler, saxophonists Gaz Birtles and Su Robinson, drummer Dave Anderson, Trumpeter Gareth John, percussionist Karl Brown, guitarist Phil Barton, bassist Steve Nutter and keyboardist Andy Price. Original bandmates Birtles and Wheeler are joined by John fronting the group replicating the combination used by the Beautiful South of one female and two male singers.
Those purchasing a ticket will get a chance to hear songs like “Rotterdam”, “Don't Marry Her” and the number one hit “A Little Time”.
The South will now perform live at Roadmender on Friday, December 5. The venue is located at 1 Lady's Lane in Northampton, and the show will get started at 7.30 pm. The concert is open to those aged 14 and over but those under 18 must have an adult accompanying them.
