A theatrical production based on one of the best-loved British comedies of all time will be on stage in Northampton later this year.
Theatregoers in Northampton searching for laughs this winter will be well-served by performing arts venue, Royal & Derngate. The celebrated theatre has announced it is playing host to a stage show of Fawlty Towers in November that was adapted by Sir John Cleese himself. A comedy icon, Cleese wrote the original BBC2 TV show with Connie Booth in the 1970s.

Simply titled “Fawlty Towers”, the show transports the beloved sitcom to the stage with Caroline Jay Ranger in the director’s chair. The production has already proved a runaway success in the capital’s West End where it experienced a record-breaking run, selling out each one of its performances.
Actor Danny Bayne leads the cast as Basil with Joanne Clifton playing Polly and Paul Nicholas as the amiable, but slightly senile Major. They are joined by 18 other players and together, they recreate much-loved moments from the shows two series.
Fawlty Towers will be live at Royal & Derngate from Tuesday, November 18 to Saturday, November 22. The venue is based at 19-21 Guildhall Road in Northampton and discounts are available for group bookings.
