Point of sale peripheral manufacturing company expands
A Stockport-based company that manufactures casing and holders for promotional point of sale materials has big plans for expansion, starting with a new site from which it will make and distribute its products.
UK Point of Sale is a company which creates and supplies holders for promotional signs, flyers and posters. The company currently supplies some of the biggest names in UK retail, including Morrison’s supermarkets and B&Q DIY stores. Recently, the company announced plans to invest £4.5 million in creating a new production and distribution plant in the Manchester region as well as looking to increase the number of staff on its books from 37 workers to 50. Jason Leslie, one of the founders of the company spoke about increased demand being the reason behind the expansion plans, saying:
The news about UK Point of Sale expanding their workforce and production plant is encouraging news for local printing companies in Manchester, especially those that specialise in pos printing. Manchester-based firms are likely to use both a local print company and a company like UK Point of Sale to provide a combined solution to their point of sale needs. By having the right poster or leaflet printed and placed at the right location in store, many retails can expect to increase the amount their customers are spending as well as making sure their customers are well-informed about any promotions and engaged with any offers that might benefit them.

“The business has changed since we started in 1989. Back then, only large retailers wanted our services, but now everybody from corner shops to large supermarket chains want our products.”
