Midlands bollard company awarded for innovation

A Coventry-based business has claimed a noteworthy victory at this year’s National Business Awards.

Safetyflex Barriers, a leading manufacturer of steel bollards and fencing, was given the Innovation Award, an accolade recognising the business which has applied innovation with the most success this year.

According to the Coventry Telegraph, the company’s managing director, Rob Gerrard, said:

“We’re thrilled to have won this year’s Innovation Award.

“The foundation of the company is built upon applying traditional manufacturing knowledge and skills to produce cutting edge security products for the UK and international security markets, and it’s this approach which sets us apart from competitors and I think impressed the judges.”

When companies win awards, they often turn to the services of reputable printing companies, in Lutterworth and other towns in Leicestershire, to let their customers and clients know about the processes and attitudes which led to their success.

The 2013 National Business Awards ceremony was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, opening with a video speech from Prime Minister David Cameron. People at the event were also treated to a message from ex-Boomtown Rats frontman Bob Geldof.

Other notable names that scooped up awards at the show include construction firm Wates Group Limited, delivery specialist Hermes UK and financial specialist Newton Europe Limited.

Sainsbury’s also walked away with a win, taking the title of QBE FTSE 100 Business of the Year. The award acknowledges the FTSE 100 firms that have delivered the highest shareholder value while growing through sustainable means.

The ceremony was attended by more than 1,000 business leaders.
