Lutterworth to get new Aldi

An Aldi supermarket is going to open in Lutterworth after the local council approved its Plans.

The recent decision to give the Aldi plan the green light was made at a meeting of Harborough District Council’s planning committee. As a result, a store will be constructed on Lutterworth’s Rugby Road. Graphic design can be useful when discussing Plans, particularly when different interests have to be balanced.

Aldi executives chose to change the details of their initial vision to secure support for the venture. About 40 jobs will be created as a consequence of a £5 million investment. The Aldi outlet is going to be situated next to a roundabout which has been named after Sir Frank Whittle.

Although a few individuals have expressed concern about the development, resident Ken Seymour has a great deal of enthusiasm for the project. Seymour would appreciate increased consumer choice and believes that the new Aldi can stimulate the economy of the surrounding area. There are existing Aldi stores in Broughton Astley and Market Harborough.

Aldi’s regional property director, Robin Williams, has rejected the argument that the shop could have a negative influence on the centre of Lutterworth. He believes that the community is going to gain from the investment. He has pointed out that a poll indicated that almost 80% of the local population are supportive of the scheme.
