The Picturehouse is home to no less than six cinema screens that will be showing the latest and best movies. This is just the start of the attractions on offer at the venue though, as it also boasts its own bar and café where people can enjoy refreshments before and after the screenings.
The cinema had its grand opening in the middle of the month with a gala night.
The screening rooms vary in size considerably. The biggest and most luxurious come with 200 reclining armchairs for patrons to sit on, tables for serving snacks and a separate stage for live events like question-and-answer sessions.
Alongside the bar and the café there is also a foyer, and the corridor walls are lined with mirrors. The design throughout is intended to evoke the retro look of cinemas from the past.
Brochure printing from shops in Epsom is one way that cinemas in the area can get items they need, like programmes.
Epsom Picturehouse managing director Clare Binns told Surrey Live:
“We’re thrilled to be opening the doors and welcoming the people of Epsom into Picturehouse’s 28th cinema at long last.”
She added that it become central to community life.
