Local people to be consulted about Epsom hospital plans

A consultation process is set to be carried out amongst local people over the Plans to make changes at hospitals in Epsom and two other towns.

The Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) for Merton, Sutton and Surrey Downs stated this month that they would conduct a consultation over Plans to spend funding of £500 million on the hospitals in Epsom, Sutton and St Helier. Under the Plans, all of these hospitals would be refurbished, but one of the three is also set to have a new building for specialist emergency care constructed on its premises using the money.

Those people living in the area who participate in the consultation are to be asked what they think about the different ideas for spending the money, such as what possible impact each of these ideas might have on local families. Print shops in Epsom are sometimes asked to provide Forms and materials for these kinds of consultations.

Dr Andrew Murray, who is a GP and part of the CCG for Merton, told the Sutton and Croydon Guardian:

“This £500 million investment gives us the chance to develop a brand new 21st century hospital facility for local people for generations to come.”

The funding was secured in the autumn of last year and the consultation is scheduled to last until the start of April.
