Rainbow Leisure Centre is located on East Street in the town and is a popular destination for local people. For more than two decades it was managed by Greenwich Leisure Ltd, but that company has now stepped down from the role. The firm that will be taking over from it is Places Leisure, which has agreed a 10-year deal with Epsom and Ewell Borough Council.
It has already been revealed that Places Leisure intends to spend money on improving the centre. Everything from the changing rooms to the gymnasium will be given an upgrade. The company is also planning to offer programmes for old people and under 16s, to increase community engagement.
When new operators take control of facilities like this, they need to advertise the services they are offering. Flyer printing by shops in Epsom is one of the ways that they can do that.
Dan Walker from Places Leisure told BBC News that:
“Our primary goal is to support the local community to create more active places and empower more healthy people, which is why within the first year of our contract we will invest £4.7 million in a series of projects.”
It will take over in October.
