A major new housing development is being proposed for a site in the centre of Epsom, which would provide homes for hundreds of people if it got the green light.
The site that has been put forward for this development is one that is currently occupied by a disused gas works. The SGN works is situated between a multi-storey car park and the Rainbow Leisure Centre, on East Street. Now, a developer is hoping to demolish what is left of it and build a housing complex made up of several tower blocks in its place.
This complex would create over 450 homes in total, divided between five separate blocks. The blocks would vary in height from eight to 12 storeys. The complex would also feature other useful amenities, including vehicle parking areas and open green spaces for public use.
When housing developers are able to complete new homes, they often turn to outlets that can supply full colour brochure printing so that they can showcase each home to potential buyers.
According to the Plans for this development that have been submitted to Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, there would be two blocks of eight storeys and one each with nine, 11 and 12 storeys. The number of car parking spaces would be 68, with over 730 spaces provided for bicycles.
