Grandfather from Epsom to take charity dive

A grandfather from Epsom is set to take a dive this summer, in a bid to raise much needed money for a hospice that is located within the town.

Dave Higgins has committed himself to skydiving as a fundraiser, partly as a way of keeping up with the efforts of his family. They have all participated in the festive fun runs that the Princess Alice Hospice organises each Christmas as a way of raising cash, while one of his daughters has also successfully trekked through the Sahara desert for five days in aid of charity.

Flyer printing provided by Print shops in Epsom can be a useful way of spreading the world about local fundraising Plans. The 68-year-old has set a financial target of £1,100 minimum and chose the hospice to raise money for because it took care of his spouse, Ann, and he wanted to thank the staff for their efforts on her behalf.

Speaking to the Surrey Comet about why he had opted for skydiving instead of the fun runs, he stated:

“Running about isn’t really my sort of thing. I can step out of a plane and lie down – so this should suit me down to the ground – literally.”

The dive has been scheduled to take place on 18th July and money can be donated on the official page.
