Epsom to get unique Thai restaurant
A restaurant chain that specialises in Thai food and uses both drones and semi-automated kitchen equipment looks set to launch in Epsom later this year, as part of its expansion plans.
Camile Thai Kitchen was started up a decade ago, but when the Epsom restaurant opens at 42 High Street, it will mark its first move outside of the capital. While drones may sound a little worrying to residents of the town, there is nothing to be afraid of, as they are simply used to allow it to make home deliveries of its meals.
This is one of the ways the chain is using technology to innovate – with its use of semi-automated woks in the kitchens being another. It also looks to provide something a little different when it comes to its food offerings, focusing on sustainable and healthy Thai cuisine, 30% of which is vegan.
Promotional products created by outlets in the local area are often disturbed to the public by the owners of new restaurants when they first open.
Speaking to Surrey Live, Jonathan Dockrell, the restaurant’s General Manager, said:
Dockrell added that the restaurant hoped to open during June.

“We had actually planned to open a site [in Epsom] last year. Because of Covid, we and the landlord needed to take a step back and reassess. [But] we’re onsite now getting a few things finished.”
