Cambridge small businesses up for awards
A number of small firms in the Cambridge area are in the running to win awards, with the shortlist for this year’s Cambridge Independent SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards having been announced.
This final list of firms that will compete in the various categories on the night was decided by a judging panel made up of local corporate leaders from various business sectors. In total, there are 19 different categories for these awards, which have been running for five years, so quite a few smaller companies are set to be recognised on the night.
These categories include ‘Business of the Year’, ‘Best Customer Service’, ‘Best New Business’ and ‘Business Innovation’. The purpose behind the awards, which were created by local newspaper the Cambridge Independent, is to honour the economic and community importance of smaller firms.
The venue for the awards night will be the Cambridge Country Club. Companies based within the city, like those nominated in these awards, have useful local services like shops that provide printed business cards to help them grow.
The editor of the Cambridge Independent, Paul Brackley, congratulated the firms listed, before going on to add that:
The awards evening is scheduled to be held on 13th October.
