The new transformation scheme from developer Barratt London encompasses 1,600 acres, making it potentially the largest UK regeneration project underway at present. Following completion in the year 2050, the development will see 400,000 homes, two college campuses, and a dedicated high street built, along with London’s sole high-speed interchange.
Ed McCoy, the firm’s sales director for West London, commented on the area selected for the project:
“The opportunity for capital growth in Acton is phenomenal. It is significantly more affordable than neighbouring Chiswick and Ealing, but over the next decade is set to emerge as a hotspot to rival White City.”
Where the environment is concerned, Barratt London takes its responsibilities to heart. The firm’s Logo Design features an oak tree as a symbol of its lasting commitment towards using sustainable building methods.
The Western Circus site will be the first of Barratt London’s Acton developments to have properties available for purchase. While 223 of the homes will be private residences, 142 will be offered as affordable housing opportunities. Along with the new accommodation, the development will also supply amenities for residents that have been crafted to create a strong sense of community. A local Lidl supermarket will be built, as well as a centrally placed café and shared gardens.
